March Madness 2025 Betting Odds and Predictions – Auburn and Duke Leading the Pack

The 2025 March Madness betting odds features two teams at the front of the pack, but the rest of the country is hot on their heels! Auburn and Duke are pacing the rest of the rest of the country, but there is a sizeable pack of contenders.

I’ll take a look at the NCAA championship odds for the 2024-2025 season, and break down the favorites and the sleepers. Then, I’ll give you my March Madness predictions at the end of this article!

Kentucky Wildcats+4000
Maryland Terrapins+4000

There isn’t any change at the top of the March Madness favorites at college basketball betting sites since our last update on March 6! Duke (+325) still tops the list with an implied win probability of 23.5% at BetUS! Auburn (+375) is next with an implied win chance of 21.1%. The Blue Devils and the Tigers are being priced ahead of the rest of the pack, and Duke finished the regular season with the #1 spot in the AP Poll, picking up 52 first-place votes. Auburn finished third with four first-place votes.

Florida (+700) leads the second tier of March Madness betting options, followed by Houston (+800), who finished ahead of Auburn in the AP rankings, getting five first-place votes. Alabama (+1100) is in the hunt after beating Auburn on the road in their regular-season finale. This trio has implied win probabilities of 8.3% to 12.5%, so they have a chance in what should be an exciting March Madness Tournament!

The rest of the teams, such as Tennessee (+1600), Michigan State (+2000), St. John’s (+2200), and Iowa State (+2500) will need the teams in front of them to stumble. But that’s the beauty of the NCAA Tournament. Even betting on March Madness underdogs can net you a great payday!

Top March Madness 2025 Favorites

Let’s tip things off by looking at the favorites in this season’s March Madness odds!

Duke Blue Devils (+325)

The Blue Devils wrapped up the ACC regular-season title with an 82-69 win at rival North Carolina, finishing 19-1 in the conference, and 28-3 overall. They’ll kick off the ACC Tournament on March 13 against Georgia Tech.

While Cooper Flagg odds are predicting the star freshman returns to Durham, instead of going to the NBA as the #1 pick, Flagg is focused on winning the title with Duke after winning ACC Player and Rookie of the Year. But as I’ve said throughout the season, the Blue Devils are more than Flagg. They’re 13th in points per game with help from Kon Knueppel and Tyrese Proctor, and Sion James is capable of getting buckets.

But the Blue Devils are also fourth in the nation in points allowed, with length all over the floor. One of Flagg’s best attributes is his attention to detail on defense. Yet, the rest of the Duke players are also great at that end of the floor. Head coach Jon Scheyer has done a fantastic job of getting everyone to buy in to the team concept, while realizing Flagg is the star. But will that equal Duke’s first national title since 2015? The 2025 NCAA Tournament odds seem to think so!

Auburn Tigers (+375)

Despite losing in overtime at home to Alabama in the finale, the Tigers still finished 15-3 in an SEC that had seven teams in the AP rankings, including four in the top ten! Auburn had a 27-4 record overall, and are the #1 seed in the SEC Tournament, which they won last year. They’ll begin the tournament on March 14. They’ll play the winner of Ole Miss, and Arkansas-South Carolina.

The Tigers can score with anyone, as shown by their fourth-place ranking in points scored. But they’re 96th in points against, and I fear that is going to come back to bite them in the NCAA Tournament. You have to be able to get stops late in games; you can’t just outscore your way to cutting down the nets in March.

If the Tigers can show some improvement there in the SEC Tournament, I’d be more bullish on their March Madness odds. But at some point, you have to stop someone. Head coach Bruce Pearl has some work on his hands with the Tigers.

2024-2025 March Madness Odds Sleepers

Next, let’s check out the odds to win the NCAA championship for a couple of sleepers, although they’re big names in the college hoops world!

Florida Gators (+700)

The Gators’ March Madness betting odds are really catching my eye! They just came up short in the regular season, finishing with a 14-4 record in the conference, and 27-4 overall. They also won their lone head-to-head matchup against Auburn, winning 90-81 on the road on February 8. Florida also beat Alabama 99-94 on the road on March 5. The Gators play on March 14 against the winner of Missouri/winner of Mississippi State and LSU.

ESPN Bracketology has Florida as a #1 seed for the NCAA Tournament, alongside Duke, Auburn, and Houston, and that seems fair. Walter Clayton Jr. leads the way, and surprisingly in a long line of great Florida players, was the first Gator ever to make first-team All-America! Florida has four players averaging 11.4 points or more.

The Gators are also 58th in points allowed, which isn’t great, but they’ve shown they can play defense when it’s needed. Their late-season loss at Georgia also wasn’t great, but they bounced back with wins over then-12th Texas A&M and at Alabama. This Florida team isn’t afraid of anyone, thanks to head coach Todd Golden, and their March Madness odds offer more value than the top two.

Houston Cougars (+800)

The Cougars are no joke! They won the Big 12 title in their first season after moving from the American Athletic Conference last year. Houston went back-to-back this year with a 19-1 record, and they were 27-4 overall. They’ll open the conference tournament against the winner of West Virginia and Colorado on March 13.

No team in the country has given up less points than Houston, and forward Joseph Tugler is a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. L.J. Cryer’s 15.3 points leads four players with 10.9 points or more. Their four losses have come at neutral sites to Auburn and Alabama (in overtime), San Diego State on a neutral court (also in OT), and another overtime loss at home against Texas Tech.

They have somebody in Cryer who can get you a bucket, and head coach Kelvin Sampson has them playing defense like they’re on fire. I would actually consider Houston’s NCAA Tournament odds over Auburn, even though the Tigers beat them earlier in the season. I value defense that much when looking at March Madness odds.

Michigan State Spartans (+2000)

The Spartans wouldn’t be considered a March Madness Cinderella team, but at +2000, their NCAA Tournament odds are a bit long. Still, Michigan State won the Big Ten regular season with a 17-3 record, and they were 26-5 overall. They’ll tip off the Big Ten tournament on Friday against the winner of Oregon and Indiana.

Michigan State had a tough stretch in February, losing at USC, UCLA, and Indiana in a four-game stretch. The Spartans haven’t lost since, beating four ranked teams during that time, including a pair of victories over rival Michigan.

Guard Jaden Akins leads the team with 12.9 points, but fellow guard Jase Richardson was second and was their leading scorer in four of the last six games of the season. Like most Tom Izzo-coached teams, the Spartans are gritty, ranking 37th in points allowed, but they’re also 55th in points scored. The legendary Izzo has gotten the Spartans to the Sweet 16 just once in the last four seasons. I think this year, the Sweet 16 is their floor, and thereafter, anything can happen!

2024-2025 NCAA Basketball Predictions

Of course, the SEC has to be considered, and while Auburn has a lower price, I really like Florida. I’m also intrigued by Houston. However, Duke is my March Madness prediction at +325 to win the title. They’re terrific at both ends of the floor, and are very well-coached. The Blue Devils have length all over the court, and they have the best player in the country in Flagg, someone who can make a play out of nothing in late-game situations.

Take Duke’s NCAA Tournament odds now because the value may vanish if they win the ACC Tournament, which they should.
