Add these three games to your bet slip, then choose the “Teaser” option to combine them into a three-leg teaser. You decide to play a 6-point teaser, which will move the line six points in your favor on each selection. Your finished 6-point, three-game teaser will look like this:
    • Indianapolis +8.5 (2.5 + 6 = 8.5)
    • Tampa Bay +1 (-5 + 6 = 1)
    • Kansas City vs Las Vegas OVER 40.5 Points (46.5 points – 6 = 40.5)

Wong Teaser Rules

One of the best NFL teaser bets that a player can make is a Wong teaser. Developed by professional gambler Stanford Wong, the Wong teaser takes advantage of the fact that many games in football are decided by three or seven points, creating a teaser that moves through the key numbers of “3” and “7.” To do this, you need to look for games featuring a favorite ranging between -7.5 and -8.5 or underdogs ranging between +1.5 and +2.5. When you tease an +2 underdog up to +8 or a -7.5 favorite down to -1.5 in a 6-point teaser, your selections will win if the game is decided by three or seven points, which it often is.

How To Win an NFL Teaser Bet

To win a teaser, every individual selection or “leg” it consists of must be graded as a winner. For instance, imagine you bet $100 to win $150 on the hypothetical 6-point, three-team teaser we created in the previous section:

  • Tampa Bay +1
  • Kansas City vs Las Vegas OVER 40.5 Points
Say that Indianapolis loses by three, Tampa Bay wins by six, and the Kansas City game has a total of 51 points. In this scenario, since all three legs of your teaser won, you’d receive your original $100 back and your $150 profit for winning the teaser as well. On the other hand, if the other two games won, but Indianapolis lost by 10, the whole teaser would be graded a loss even though you had two out of three correct.
